Eyelid Surgery (Blepharoplasty) in Miami, FL

(310) 970-2940 | Beverly Hills | Miami

As we age, our skin begins to lose some of the collagen and elastin that are responsible for keeping the skin healthy, strong, and tight. When this happens, we can experience loose and sagging skin. One of the most prominent areas on our bodies for this to happen is in our eyelids. This can be challenging, especially when you want your face to shine under the Miami sun.

Sagging eyelid skin can cause men and women to look much older than they are and can even obstruct vision. Additionally, many people find themselves frustrated with puffiness and “bags” underneath their eyes. The good news is that blepharoplasty is a cosmetic surgical procedure that can help correct this frustrating cosmetic issue.

What Can Blepharoplasty Achieve?

Blepharoplasty (also known as eyelid surgery or eyelid lift surgery) helps revitalize the appearance of the eyes by removing or repositioning excess fat and skin from the eyelids.

Since the “eyes are the windows to the soul,” it is important that we keep the skin around our eyes (especially on our eyelids) healthy and smooth, and blepharoplasty helps do just that.

Eyelid lift surgery is an individualized procedure, so Dr. Hadeed will assess your goals and expectations to develop your surgical plan. It is at this meeting where he will discuss the best eyelid lift technique for you. Eyelid lift surgery is performed using general anesthesia or intravenous sedation. Dr. Hadeed will discuss which option is right for you at your consultation.

How Is Blepharoplasty Performed?

If you are concerned about sagging skin that creates droopy eyelids or you are frustrated with puffiness below your eyes, then you will want to schedule a consultation with Dr. Hadeed in Miami, Florida. At your blepharoplasty consultation, Dr. Hadeed will listen to your aesthetic concerns and examine your condition to develop a surgical plan that is right for your needs.

Either upper blepharoplasty (which corrects issues in the upper eyelid), lower blepharoplasty (which corrects issues in the lower eyelid), or a combination of both can be performed, depending on the correction needed.

For an upper blepharoplasty, Dr. Hadeed will make an incision in the natural creases of your upper eyelid. Through this incision, excess skin and fat will be removed, and the underlying muscles will be tightened before the incision is closed. This procedure can help clear any obstruction to your vision caused by drooping eyelids and can help rejuvenate your facial appearance.

For a lower blepharoplasty, Dr. Hadeed will make an incision just below your lower eyelashes. Through this incision, excess fat will be removed and/or redistributed, and your muscles will be tightened. This procedure can help to get rid of puffiness and under-eye bags.

What Will My Blepharoplasty Recovery Be Like?

After your blepharoplasty, you can expect to have some bruising and swelling, which should lessen over the next several days. Additionally, you will likely experience dry and itchy eyes. It is important that you do not irritate your eyes. You can apply cold compresses and use ointments to help minimize the discomfort and swelling, though it is important that you follow all post-op instructions provided by Dr. Hadeed. This includes refraining from any strenuous activities for at least two to three weeks.

What Results Can I Expect From My Blepharoplasty Procedure?

You can expect that your blepharoplasty results will be long lasting. However, it is important to understand that this procedure cannot keep the natural effects of aging from occuring.

Whether you are suffering from obstructed vision due to sagging eyelid skin or you simply want to rejuvenate the appearance of your eyes (and, by association, your entire facial aesthetic), blepharoplasty can help you achieve the look and feel you desire.

Can my blepharoplasty be combined with other procedures?

While many patients choose to have their blepharoplasty surgery performed as a standalone procedure, other patients choose to combine their eyelid surgery with other facial procedures to achieve a more dramatic and complete facial transformation. How much is blepharoplasty in Miami?

That is because the cost is dependent on numerous factors, including the extent of correction needed; whether the patient is having upper eyelid surgery, lower eyelid surgery, or a combination of both; and whether this surgery is being combined with any other procedures. At your consultation, Dr. Hadeed will provide you with an accurate cost estimate for your specific procedure.
