Here’s why liposuction alone doesn’t effectively treat gynecomastia. Gynecomastia is caused by an enlargement of breast glandular tissue, and typically there’s a fibrous capsule that forms around the glandular tissue. So true gynecomastia requires excision of the glandular tissue. Doing liposuction alone is not an effective treatment because it’s not going to effectively remove all of the glandular tissue. Now, some men with gynecomastia may require liposuction to remove some of the excess fatty tissue that they have in their chest, but it is typically combined with excision of the glandular tissue. And this is why a liposuction alone is not an effective treatment for gynecomastia.
