InBody® Body Composition Analysis
What many people don’t realize when maintaining the results of their body contouring surgery is that even though the scale may not show much of a difference, your results can still change. Fat cells are removed, swelling resolves, and your contours improve, but if your body composition isn’t optimized before surgery, those results may not look as defined (or last as long) as you expected.
Dr. Josef Hadeed is changing that by incorporating InBody® body composition analysis into his practice. The purpose of InBody® is to optimize your body before surgery to help ensure gorgeous results and to keep your body optimized after surgery to help your results last even longer.
During your consultation in Beverly Hills, Dr. Hadeed will help you choose the options that will give you the best results.
Schedule A ConsultationAm I a Good Candidate for InBody® Analysis?
Ideal candidates for InBody® body composition analysis include:
- Patients preparing for plastic surgery who want to optimize their results and improve their overall body composition before their procedure
- Patients seeking to maintain their surgical results long-term through data-driven lifestyle adjustments
- Patients frustrated by the numbers on the scale who want a more accurate understanding of how much fat versus muscle they have
- Anyone who wants to improve their fitness, nutrition, and overall health using measurable, trackable insights
How Does Dr. Hadeed Use InBody®?
Dr. Hadeed uses InBody® as part of a longevity and wellness program at his practice. His goal is to optimize his patients’ health prior to surgery to help ensure the best possible results. By starting with a baseline body composition analysis before a body contouring procedure, such as liposuction, the InBody® data helps him identify any concerns that need to be addressed before surgery. For example, if the patient’s visceral fat percentage is high, he may recommend a GLP-1 medication to reduce the amount of visceral fat before scheduling surgery.
What Can I Expect From My InBody® Analysis?
Your InBody® analysis is performed using a device you step onto while also holding hand electrodes. A safe, low-level electrical current passes through your body to measure muscle, fat, and water levels. The scan takes less than a minute, requires no needles or discomfort, and instantly generates a detailed body composition report. The data gathered and reported from the analysis include your total body weight, body mass index (BMI), skeletal muscle mass, body fat percentage, body water analysis, and phase angle (a measure of cellular health).
Once the body composition analysis is complete, Dr. Hadeed will review the results. Based on the information generated during the scan, he will make recommendations for steps to optimize your body before your cosmetic surgery.
Dr. Hadeed recommends one InBody® session prior to your surgical procedure and follow-up scans every three months after your surgery, on an ongoing basis, to help maintain your results and track your health and weight management progress.
FAQs About InBody® Body Composition Analysis
How should I prepare for my InBody® scan?
For the most accurate InBody® scan results, avoid eating, drinking large amounts of water, and exercising for a few hours before your scan. It’s also best to test under similar conditions each time.
How often should I get an InBody® scan?
The frequency of your InBody® scans depends on your individual goals and Dr. Hadeed’s recommendations. Regular scans allow you to track trends in your body fat, muscle mass, and hydration without becoming overly focused on normal, day-to-day fluctuations.
Will my hydration levels during my InBody® scan affect my results?
Yes. Because InBody® measures water distribution in your body, being over- or under-hydrated can impact your readings. Consistency in your hydration levels is essential for accurate comparisons over time.
Can InBody® track visceral fat?
Yes. InBody® provides an estimate of visceral fat, which is the fat stored around your internal organs. This is important for both aesthetic goals and overall health.
Is InBody® analysis safe for everyone?
InBody® is safe for most people, but it is typically not recommended for patients with pacemakers or certain implanted medical devices due to the electrical current used during the scan.
