Dermal Fillers Beverly Hills
As part of the aging process, the face loses volume and skin loses its tightness due to a loss of collagen. . While botulinum toxins such as Botox and Dysport may relax the facial muscles and keep them from producing wrinkles, they will not restore lost volume. Dermal fillers can help to restore volume to the midface, cheeks, nasolabial folds, marionette lines, and temples. The end result is restoring a youthful fullness to the face.
There are a variety of dermal fillers on the market. During your consultation, Dr. Hadeed will consider what products would be best suited to assist you in achieving your aesthetic goals. Dermal fillers are not permanent, usually lasting anywhere from 6 months to 2 years depending on the particular product. As such, repeat injections of dermal fillers will be needed to maintain your appearance.
Some examples of dermal fillers currently available are:
Belotero® – Belotero is one of only 3 hyaluronic acid (HA) fillers approved by the Food and Drug Administration of the United States (FDA). It is approved to smooth moderate to severe wrinkles and folds. When injected into the dermis Belotero evenly integrates with your own dermal tissues and discreetly enhances your facial contours for added confidence. One of the major uses of Belotero is fine wrinkles around the mouth and eyes.
Juvederm® – Juvederm is a smooth gel filler made from hyaluronic acid. It is infused with lidocaine to improve comfort during treatment. JUVÉDERM® XC is manufactured using HYLACROSS™ technology, creating a smooth-consistency gel. JUVÉDERM® XC can be used to treat the marionette lines around the nose and mouth, or to enhance the lips or other features of the face.
Voluma® – Volume is a hyaluronic acid filler similar to Juvederm. It is highly cross-linked so that it lasts longer and provides more volume, especially to your midface and cheek area. It is the first and only FDA-approved filler to correct age-related volume loss in the midface. With optimal treatment, natural-looking results can occur for up to two years.
Radiesse® – Radiesse is one of the most important advances in the field of facial rejuvenation. It is made out of a synthetic substance that comprises microspheres of calcium hydroxylapatite in an aqueous gel. As calcium is a natural part of the body, there are no allergic reactions associated with this filler. The cream-like injection feels smooth and natural. One of the most important characteristics of Radiesse is that it lasts longer than most non-permanent fillers. The substance can last for many months and then it is absorbed naturally by the body. Radiesse is best used for deeper wrinkles. One of the most innovative uses for Radiesse is the enhancement of cheeks and mid-face. This revolutionary procedure brings out the beauty of a well-volumized upper face and pulls the nasolabial fold up. The process has been worked to a science in our office. With a combination of cooling and local anesthesia, Radiesse is virtually painless and has proven to have minimal downtime. Some individuals have some bruising; however most patients resume all of their normal activities the next day. Recapture your natural radiance with new Radiesse!
Restylane® – Restylane is another hyaluronic acid filler that is most similar to the body’s own hyaluronic acid. It can be used to visibly reduce moderate to severe facial wrinkles and folds, and also to add fullness to your lips. The newest formulation contains lidocaine to improve comfort during treatment. Results with Restylane can last up to 12-18 months.
Perlane® –Perlane is also composed of hyaluronic acid, and is considered a sister product to Restylane. The primary difference between Perlane and Restylane is that the hyaluronic acid gel particles in Perlane are larger. This gives Perlane the additional ability to lift and fill the areas of injection that require a denser formulation. Perlane and Restylane are often used as complements to each other.
Sculptra® – Sculptra works differently from the hyaluronic acid fillers, in that it stimulates growth of your own collage to restore lost facial volume. Because it acts to stimulate collagen growth, the results from Sculptra are typically not immediately apparent and may take several months before you notice a difference. The results, however, tend to be more long lasting, in some cases up to two years after treatment.
During your treatment, Dr. Hadeed will clean your face, numb the skin with an anesthetic, and inject the appropriate amount of dermal fillers while maintaining a natural look to your face. The treatment session will last about 20 – 30 minutes, and most patients may return to normal activities immediately. The results are immediate. Some people can develop mild bruising and swelling at the injection sites, which typically last several days to a week.
