Facelift Surgery Beverly Hills
Facelift surgery, also known as rhytidectomy, is a procedure that aims to make patients look younger and healthier. The results of a facelift are long-lasting, and when combined with other facial rejuvenation procedures, can restore natural facial features. Sometimes, a neck lift can be combined with a facelift for patients seeking to improve the chin and jawline contours. Dr. Hadeed will take the time to listen to your concerns, explain the details of facelift surgery, and understand the outcome that you want. When considering a facelift, there are several other options to consider including whether or not to perform additional facial procedures such as a neck lift, eyelid surgery, or fat grafting. Dr. Hadeed will formulate a surgical plan that best addresses your individual needs while creating the most natural results possible.
There are many different facelift procedures available that can help patients get a more rejuvenated appearance. Some of the more common techniques include:
- Full incision technique – this is the traditional facelift that involves lifting and tightening the skin around the face. Excess fat and skin is removed, and the deeper layers of fat are repositioned over the cheek to smooth out folds and lines. The incisions are usually made along or behind your hairline.
- Short scar technique – also known as a mini facelift, this typically involves a much shorter incision than the traditional facelift. The amount of lift that can be performed with this technique is limited, and younger patients with good skin elasticity are usually the best candidates.
- Mid facelift technique – this procedure lifts the soft tissues in the cheekbone area in order to improve the appearance of nasolabial folds (nose-to-mouth lines) and hanging skin in the middle of the face.
- Stem cell facelift technique – although not a true facelift in the traditional sense, a stem cell facelift adds volume to the face through the injection of fat. Fat cells are harvested by liposuctions from other areas of the body, and are then processed with a focus on the stem cells within the fat cells. The fat and stem cells are then injected into the face to provide contour and volume.
Dr. Hadeed usually incorporates more complex, deeper tissue lifting techniques, resulting in more natural, refreshed, and rejuvenated appearances in his patients. He believes that the goal of any facial rejuvenation surgery is to produce a balanced result and restore facial harmony, all the while maintaining a natural look.
A facelift can be performed under either intravenous sedation or general anesthesia. Although most patients can do this as an outpatient procedure, an overnight stay in an aftercare facility might be required for others. The incisions are made in front of, and behind the ear. Sometimes, an incision is made in the chin crease for patients requiring tightening of their neck muscles. Dr. Hadeed takes great care to place the incisions in areas that are very inconspicuous. After the muscles are tightened and the tissues are repositioned to provide a more youthful appearance to the face, any excess skin will be removed. Results are not usually immediately apparent, as there can be moderate facial swelling within the first 24 hours that may take several weeks to subside.
